Nancy Adham, Shiatsu practitioner

Nancy Adham was born in Alexandria, Egypt and has lived in several countries working with people teaching dance, art, and design.

Nancy has had over 30 years of dance experience. She was prima dancer of her dance school growing up, The School of Contemporary Dance of Kuwait. She then moved on to Montreal, where she received 8 years of training in jazz ballet. After that she travailed back to Egypt, where she joined the Karim Tounsi Dance Company, performing and co-choreographing for the Cairo Opera House, for 7 years.

During the last 20 years she has also been teaching jazz ballet in Montreal and Egypt, and most recently since 2000 she developed a passion for belly dancing and has been teaching it ever since, at the Harbour Dance Center in Vancouver. She is also a trained fitness instructor, with training from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.

Nancy has a deep understanding of body movement and how muscles work due to her in-depth experience with dance. Her desire to help dancers relieve their muscle stiffness, minimize stess and minimize over-all fatigue led her to study Shiatsu and offer healing through this beautiful technique. Shiatsu treatments can help to alleviate stress and to improve muscle and joint function. This deep yet gentle approach to health care can strengthen the body and improve overall wellness, offering many long-term benefits.

Very soon her work was appreciated by many, and Shiatsu offers excellent solutions for individuals wanting relaxation, additional stress management and health enhancement. Nancy received her certification from the Vancouver School of Body Work and Massage.
